Public Service
Following his years in the Nigerian Air Force, Atawodi continued to contribute to national life through public service.
As Chairman of the Presidential Implementation Committee on Maritime Safety and Security, he took on a national assignment focused on maritime safety, security and institutional coordination.
Earlier in his public service career, his work with the Directorate of Food, Roads and Rural Infrastructure in Benue State brought him closer to the practical challenges facing communities. His involvement included rural road and electrification initiatives intended to improve connectivity and access to basic infrastructure.
Investing in Young People
Atawodi has consistently maintained an interest in creating opportunities for younger people.
Education and mentorship have formed part of his community involvement, while his interest in sport has provided another avenue for encouraging discipline, confidence and personal development among young Nigerians.
A keen lawn tennis player, he established the SAA Tennis Foundation, supporting tournaments and opportunities for young tennis talents.
